GNC Guam

GNC Guam

GNC, headquartered in Pittsburgh, is a specialty retailer of nutritional products including vitamin, mineral, herbal supplements and sports nutrition products. As a supplement giant described by main-stream media in the United States, GNC has more than 6,000 retail locations around the States and franchise operations in more than 50 international markets.

GNC’s vitamins are well-known mainly because of strong clinical studies behind the products. Customers always enjoy checking out the results of clinical studies on the label of GNC’s products, for example, joint-supporting TriFlex, Mega Men and Women’s Ultra Mega multivitamins, and Total Lean weight-loss products. GNC’s Pro Performance sports nutrition products are also supported by scientific studies. That is why GNC is a very famous brand among professional athletes and serious bodybuilders around the world.

In addition, ConsumerLab.com, a leading provider of independent test results in the U.S., performed tests to confirm purity and potency for 10 GNC fish oil products in 2012. All 10 products passed without exception.

In fact, GNC is the world's largest company of its kind devoted exclusively to helping its customers improve the quality of their lives. From scientific research and new product discovery to the manufacturing and packaging processes, GNC takes pride in its rigorous approach to ensuring quality.

Mission Zero Bag

Mission Zero Bag

RAG (Recycling Association of Guam) estimates that Guam consumers use over 40 million plastic bags annually. Payless Supermarket issues out approximately 11,361,000 plastic bags each year which equates to 28% of the total island’s plastic bags. As the largest provider of plastic bags on Guam, Pay-Less acknowledges a social responsibility to encourage customers to develop habits that protect our island’s environment. One way to do this is to cut down on the usage of plastic bags by encouraging customers to utilize reusable bags.

On February 22, 2008, Pay-Less reintroduced a program to get reusable shopping bags into the hands of our customers. In addition, Pay-Less started distributing only “biodegradable” plastic bags. While this is a much better alternative than regular plastic bags, it still can have some harmful effects on our environment. If not properly disposed, plastic bags can clog storm drains and cause flooding in villages, litter Guam’s beautiful landscapes and beaches, and even kill aquatic animals.

As a pro-active corporate citizen, Pay-Less Supermarkets plans to expand our Go Green campaign by placing recycling bins at all our store locations and introducing our “Mission Zero Bags” (M0B) Program. On designated M0B days, customers will be encouraged to bring their own bag. Anyone requesting a plastic bag or brown bag will be charged 5 cents per bag. 100% of the proceeds from the bag fees will be donated to school organizations with a green initiative. We will also continue to issue a 5 cent rebate to encourage customers to bring in their own bags. Pay-Less Markets goal is to completely eliminate plastic bags at all our Pay-Less locations.
